About Me
I’m Çağatay Çivici, a Turkish developer living in Ankara, Turkey. I’ve graduated from Bilkent University Department of Computer Engineering in May, 2005. After that I’ve worked for Kocsistem as an infrastructure developer more than a year. Kocsistem’s project was for military and I’ve experienced JSF, Spring, Hibernate, Acegi formula there a lot. After realizing that I’m not paid well enough:) I started working for Freelance.com. The projects I worked on is Freelance.com’s intranet/internet applications heavily based on Apache MyFaces and Hibernate. It was a remote job and I usually worked at my home office and when held joined project meetings in Dubai or France.
After leaving Freelance.com I’ve started my own consulting firm called “Prime Technology Consulting“, nowadays I’m mentoring, training and consulting several companies on technologies like JSF, Spring, JPA and more. We’re also offering Project Management consulting based on Agile Methodoloy and XP(Extreme Programming).
Other than daytime work, I’ve several open source hobbies focusing on JavaServer Faces. I’m a PMC(Project Management Comittee) member of Apache MyFaces project and actively involved in Myfaces plus it’s subprojects like Tomahawk. Other than that I’ve contributed to a couple of well known projects like Acegi Security, JFreeChart and etc. Moreover I’ve created several open source libraries like JSF ChartCreator, FacesTrace, Acegi-JSF. I’m also the founder and lead developer of the YUI4JSF Component Library that contains several JSF components, Ajax extensions and other goodies. When I have the time, I try to join conferences like JavaOne, ApacheCon and etc. Last conference I attended as a speaker was JSFDay08 in Vienna, Austria.
In my spare time, I usually watch tv-shows like Sopranos, Lost, Heroes, Entourage, Prison Break, The Office, My Name is Earl and play games on PS3. Other than that, I’m interested in learning to speak new languages, nowadays I’m learning Italian. The last thing I can say about myself is “Visca El BARCA!” which reveals my fanaticism about F.C.Barcelona:)

Hi,
I have this question and I hope you can help. Is there a way to extend JSF routing mechanism, like implementing a provider or interface to make the JSF engine to read the from a custom store rather than from the faces-config.xml. We have an old java application that uses servlets and we want to change JSP to JSF and keep the code in servlet. In other word we are trying to delegate the HTTP request from JSF servlet to our business servlets.
Thanks
